I build AI tools that take real work off your plate.

An AI automation consultant for small businesses across Greater Philadelphia.

Alex Smith · Phoenixville, PA

What I do

Every business has work that quietly eats hours: quoting, scheduling, paperwork, converting files, answering the same questions over and over. AI can handle a lot of it now. Figuring out which parts, and building something your team actually uses, is the job.

That’s the work I do as an AI consultant: I find the parts worth automating, build a tool that does them, and stick around to make sure it keeps working, for businesses across Phoenixville, Chester County, and the Greater Philadelphia area.

Who you’d be working with

Alex Smith

I’m Alex Smith. For the last decade I’ve built software and led product, most recently as a senior product manager at Klarna, before that running Le Wagon’s coding schools across China and designing products for companies like Nike and IKEA. I do both the business thinking and the building myself, which is what lets me turn a problem into something working, fast.

I live in Phoenixville with my dog, Heizi, and work with businesses across Greater Philadelphia: Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware counties. If you’re nearby, I’m happy to meet in person.

Two ways to work together

1

You already know what you need

There’s a specific bottleneck you’ve put your finger on: a manual process, a tool that doesn’t exist, hours going somewhere they shouldn’t. I build the solution and get it running in your business.

2

You know AI could help, but not where

You can tell technology should be doing more, but the exact opportunity isn’t clear yet. I come in, shadow how the work really flows, and write you an automation strategy: what’s worth automating, in what order, and what it takes. Then we build from that plan.

Where I work

Based in Phoenixville, working with small businesses across Greater Philadelphia. Remote-first, and in person across the Pennsylvania counties.

Common questions

A few things people ask before we talk.

I find the work in your business that eats hours and doesn't need a person doing it, then build AI that handles it: drafting customer replies, quoting, scheduling, moving data between tools, following up on leads. The goal is fewer hours on repetitive work, not a science project.

The first call is free, 45 minutes. Afterward I send a written proposal for the specific work, scoped so you can start with one project and see the value before going further. I'd rather prove something small works than sell you a big open-ended engagement up front.

Both. Some consultants hand you a strategy and leave the actual building to an automation agency. I do both myself: I find the work worth automating, build it, and stay on to keep it running. If you already know exactly what you want built, we can skip the strategy and go straight to building.

Fast. I start with a small working prototype, usually up in a few weeks, so you can watch it do real work before we invest in more. If it doesn't earn its place, we don't scale it.

No. I'm based in Phoenixville, but I work with small businesses across Greater Philadelphia, including Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware counties and the Main Line. Most of the work is remote, and I meet in person around the Pennsylvania counties when it helps.

Like your business. Whether it's customer replies, content, or outreach, I build it on your information and your voice, and you stay in control of what goes out. AI does the drafting and the routine; the judgment stays yours.
